This Fender Jaguar, finished in a remarkably rare Charcoal Frost, comes from a transitional period in Fender's history, contributing to its unique specs, notably a bound board with pearloid inlays. Jaguars have long been lumped in with Fender's other short scale models, most of which were released as lower end introductory students models. However, the Jaguar was Fender's highest-end offering at the time, and this example's custom color made it even more top-tier.
This Jaguar is in great shape for its age with the finish dings throughout the body and headstock being its most notable wear. Our in-house repair team performed some minor TLC: reseating the pickups and replacing the deteriorated foam mute. The frets have a decent amount of life left, so for the sake of originality we opted to level, crown and polish the original frets rather than perform a full refret. Jaguars have unique, versatile electronics allowing for a wide range of tones; it can do a tele and also lush jazz tones as well.
