This 2002 Gibson F-5 Master Model is an expertly crafted mandolin inspired by the legendary designs of Lloyd Loar. Hand-built in Gibson's Nashville workshop, it features an Adirondack spruce top and highly figured maple back sides and neck. Its compound radius ebony fingerboard, classic flowerpot headstock inlay, and hand-applied sunburst finish showcase Gibson’s attention to detail and vintage aesthetic. Cosmetically, this mandolin has been well-loved and well-played. It features pick wear throughout and is missing a piece of binding on the bottom point. Additionally, there is some finish reaction at the top and bottom of the neck. As you might imagine with a mandolin played so regularly, it sounds incredible. Bell-like rounded highs that still can pierce through a mix a bluegrass jam.
Includes Green Calton-style hard shell case.
