Modifications/RepairsReplaced wiring harness (fully replaced pots and caps), added foam under pickups, refret, tailpiece modified to '56 Bigsby specs, 3rd and 5th fret inlays are thin
This 1953 Gibson Les Paul is a rare piece of early electric guitar history—an original goldtop from the first full year of production. While it's undergone some modifications over the years, its core vintage character remains fully intact. The components of the wiring harness have all been replaced, and some foam was added underneath the pickups to correct height. The tailpiece and bridge have been converted to 1956 Bigsby specs, with a period correct B7 tailpiece and dog bone bridge.  A professional refret has its playability dialed in, and while inlays at the 3rd and 5th frets are thin, they are original to the guitar.

Its original P-90 pickups absolutely sing with warm, mellow, true vintage tone, and excellent playability all the way down the neck. A real deal mojo machine.

Includes historic reissue Lifton case.
