Fender '57 AVRI Stratocaster 1986, Sunburst

This 1986 Fender American Vintage ’57 Stratocaster comes from the early years of Fender’s return to vintage-style reissues, when the company was rebuilding its classic lineup around more traditional specifications. The Sunburst finish is paired with an Alder body, one-piece Maple neck, 7.25" radius, and vintage-style hardware, closely following the look and feel of a late-’50s Strat. A set of vintage-style staggered single-coil pickups and the three-way switching keep the electronics in line with the original-era design. These early AVRI guitars have become increasingly interesting in their own right, and this one is a great example of Fender’s first-generation approach to recreating the ’57 Stratocaster.
