Description
This ’67 Telecaster is a great example of a true player-grade vintage Fender—full of character, history, and undeniable vibe. It pairs a 1967 neck with a refinished body that likely began as a ’60s piece, though the “B804” stamp in the neck pocket suggests it could be an ’80s or early ’90s Japanese replacement. At some point, it was routed for a neck humbucker, but the work went a bit too far and broke through the back of the body. Over the years, it’s been thoughtfully maintained and updated, including a refret and new nut, along with replaced tuners, saddles, electronics (volume pot dated 1984, tone pot from 1990), and a non-original neck pickup. It’s also worth noting that guitars from the late ’67 to early ’68 period wouldn’t have originally carried a “Custom Telecaster” decal. Despite its modifications, this guitar plays effortlessly and delivers exactly what you’d hope for—rich, broken-in tone with plenty of soul. It looks fantastic, feels alive in your hands, and honestly sounds like it could’ve come straight off an old Haggard record.
