Description

This 2023 Gibson Custom Shop 1957 Les Paul Goldtop Murphy Lab Ultra Heavy Aged is finished in Double Gold and captures the look and character of a heavily played late-'50s original through Gibson's most extensive aging process. Built with a lightweight one-piece mahogany body, figured maple top, and hide glue construction, it follows many of the period-correct specifications found on the original 1957 model. A pair of unpotted Custombucker Alnico III pickups delivers the open, dynamic response and midrange character associated with early PAF-style humbuckers. The Murphy Lab Ultra Heavy Aged nitrocellulose lacquer treatment recreates decades of finish checking, edge wear, and natural patina, giving the instrument the appearance of a well-traveled vintage example. This guitar remains in excellent condition.
