Gibson EB-2 1958, Sunburst

A fully original example of Gibson's first foray into ES basses, this EB-2 has everything a collector and play could desire. The original specification black plastic pickup cover, banjo tuners, long pickguard, and Brazilian rosewood neck make for an instrument that is not only rare, but plays and sounds as good as it looks. The single neck position pickup has a wonderful clarity and warmth that lends itself to multiple genres. Other than a repaired area around the input jack and a present, structurally sound finish crack where the thumb rests, this bass has made it through the decades in wonderful condition. A true pillar of the early days of electric bass development. Includes original Lifton case, also in ideal condition.
