This 1959 Gibson ES-335 comes from the model’s earliest and most sought-after production period, built just a year after Gibson introduced the semi-hollow design that would permanently reshape the electric guitar landscape. By combining a maple laminate body with a solid center block, the ES-335 bridged the gap between hollowbody warmth and solidbody sustain in a way that quickly appealed to players across jazz, blues, and rock music. This example retains its original electronics, including a pair of highly-sought after double white PAF humbuckers reading 8.4k in the bridge and 8.2k in the neck, offering the clear upper mids and soft compression of genuine PAF tone.

The guitar remains in exceptionally fine condition overall, with only a tiny area of drop fill near the bass-side horn that is really only visible under blacklight inspection. The original Kluson single line/single ring tuners remain intact with replacement tuner buttons installed, while the original “mummified” buttons are included in the case. At 6.8 lbs, the instrument feels light for an early ES-335, pairing nicely with the comfortable late-’59 neck carve and resonant body construction.

Includes original brown Lifton hardshell case with pink plush interior.
