This 1953 Gibson Southern Jumbo features a spruce top paired with mahogany back and sides and the square-shoulder dreadnought body associated with the model. Appointments include the familiar sunburst finish, multi-ply binding, and a Brazilian rosewood bridge and fingerboard. The guitar has received several professional repairs over time, including a neck reset, bridge reglue, and a bridge plate that has been plugged and re-drilled. Several internal braces have also been reglued, and a bass-side lower back crack has been repaired. There is evidence of interior glue work on both the top and back from previous maintenance. The instrument also shows black overspray, along with finish checking throughout.
Includes brown Lifton hard shell case (Green interior) - great condition.
