This is one of the rare early Varsity models, released shortly after the brand was resurrected in 2012. Some players prefer this era, as this was back when the amps were still hand-wired, point to point, instead of using circuit boards like the modern designs. It features cathode biased power tubes, so you could relate the sound to a 5E3 Deluxe with a Bass/Treble tone stack, or even an Vox AC15, given the EL84's.
It has a handy two-way negative feedback switch, which drastically changes the headroom and breakup, depending on how dirty/clean you need it to be. This is a spectacular deal for well-renowned modern builder, who's new amps typically start around $1800.
