This 1958 Martin D-21 is a well-built guitar from a period when Martin kept things fairly simple. The Brazilian rosewood back and sides give it a warm, balanced tone with good articulation, and the spruce top has had time to settle into an open, even response. Its fretboard has been modified, the original fret inlays were plugged and replaced with the current layout, along with a personalized inlay on the 20th fret with a previous owners name and hometown, and the neck has a comfortable shape that sits naturally in the hand. It has recently received a neck reset, compression re-fret, and new bridge, ensuring that it plays like new for time to come.
