Description
The SA-45 from New Vintage is a JTM45-style amplifier with several thoughtful additions for expanded versatility. A three-way toggle on the rear allows you to shape the overall gain character, while a Drive switch on the front further alters the response, allowing you to tame things down into more traditional 5F6-A Tweed Bassman territory. A master volume keeps everything controllable, while the Mercury Magnetics transformers add a nice touch of quality to an already impressive design.

Here’s what NV has to say about it:

"The SA-45 and lower-wattage SA-25 are two amps that nail the classic American Country, Blues, and Rock tones. The SA Series of amplifiers have a nice round, warm tone that can bite when needed. The drive switch introduces more midrange growl, changing from clean to overdriven tones depending largely on the player's touch. These amps are designed to be able to sing or howl depending on how you play. This is a rare example of an amp that is influenced by the player. The SA series of amps really shine when played by a dynamic guitarist. The balanced tone provides the ideal foundation for pedals and effects."
