Description
Like the name suggests, the Model 1396 Silvertone is a 2x12 combo from the late ’50s. It has a unique tube configuration, utilizing a less-efficient quartet of 6L6s to produce around 50 watts of power. The end result is a very pleasant, compressed sound with an excellent crunch when overdriven. Like all Silvertones, these are excellent-sounding amps for the money, though players should be wary of high-powered vintage combos for sensitive, low-volume recording applications, as they can exhibit some cabinet rattle due to their budget-friendly design.

It has received a light amount of servicing, including a changed power cord, but may require additional work if long-term or gigging reliability is required.
