This Taran Tirga Mhor Multi-Scale in African Blackwood is a modern build that pairs traditional materials with a more progressive design approach. The mastergrade Adirondack spruce top is matched with a two-piece set of African Blackwood back and sides, supported by Taran’s compression bracing and fully kerfed Western Red Cedar linings. The result is a clear, controlled response with strong note separation and a wide dynamic range.
The fan fret scale length layout spans 20-25.6”, combined with a compound radius fingerboard (12" to 16"), offering a balanced feel across the register. The neck is carved from Santos mahogany and reinforced with carbon fiber alongside a two-way truss rod. Additional features include a hand-carved African Blackwood bridge, Evo Gold frets, and Scheller tuners fitted with matching Blackwood buttons.
Aesthetic details are thoughtfully executed, with Ebano binding, a hot-sanded Scottish Burr Elm bevel, and a matching headstock overlay. The guitar also includes a sound port and a cutaway with bevel for extended access. It comes housed in its original burgundy Calton case with Taran branding.
