This Taylor Leo Kottke Signature Model (LKSM) 12-string from 1994 comes from the earliest era of Taylor’s Kottke collaboration, when the company was building its reputation for strong-voiced 12-strings that prioritized clarity and power. The Sitka spruce top paired with mahogany back and sides produces a defined, confident low end and a quick, clean attack that favors articulation. The 25.5" scale length and wider nut width offer enough room to work comfortably across double courses, especially for players who lean into alternating bass lines and complex left-hand movement. The ebony fingerboard and bridge add stability under 12-string tension, a critical part of how these guitars were designed. This example remains in good condition, having recently undergone a bridge reglue and featuring a few spots of drop fill.
