The Clarence White 28 takes its inspiration from the powerful dreadnoughts favored by Clarence White, whose work with the Kentucky Colonels helped establish the guitar as a lead voice in bluegrass. White’s fast, syncopated flatpicking style and later work with the Byrds made him an important figure in both bluegrass and country-rock, and his approach to the guitar continues to influence players today. This 1991 early Collings example follows that tradition with an Adirondack Spruce top, Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, and an enlarged soundhole that gives the instrument plenty of projection and presence. Additioanal appointments such as binding, herringbone and the gold tuners set it apart as a regal piece. It remains in very good condition, with a light ring of discoloration around the top rim being a notable cosmetic issue.

Includes AVS hard shell case.
