This Collings D1 A HC brings Collings’ Hill Country voicing to a classic mahogany dreadnought. It has a hand-voiced Adirondack spruce top over Honduran mahogany back and sides, which gives it a punchy, woody tone with lots of headroom for flatpicking and strong strumming. Hill Country appointments include a full Hill Country neck profile, a square peghead with no volute, and relic nickel Waverly tuners, which give it the feel of a well-loved prewar dreadnought. An ebony fingerboard, an ebony belly bridge, an aged bone nut and a 25 1/2" scale round out a build that plays as well as it sounds. It’s a modern Austin-built dreadnought with old-school character, ready for the stage, the studio or the front porch.
