This 1956 Fender Precision Bass has clearly seen plenty of use, with a rough and ready appearance that reflects years of hard playing. The body has been routed for a later-style active P Bass pickup and battery compartment, with an additional 2.5" x 1" route under the pickguard, and the original pickup has been replaced with a 1968 Tele Bass pickup. A replacement pickguard is fitted, and there is some very old overspray on the back of the neck. The finish shows plenty of wear throughout, and the bass has a noticeable moisture-related odor. It remains a well-used example of an early Precision Bass with plenty of history behind it.
Includes modern tweed case (Heavy wear).
