This 2024 Gibson Custom Shop ’59 Les Paul Standard recreates the look and feel of a late-1950s Burst, complete with a figured maple top and a Sunburst finish treated to the Murphy Lab Heavy Aged process. The mahogany body and neck are paired with a rosewood fingerboard and classic trapezoid inlays, staying true to the original design’s familiar appointments. Custombucker pickups deliver an open, dynamic response, with the warmth, clarity, and rich harmonic character associated with vintage-style PAF humbuckers. The Heavy Aged treatment adds substantial finish checking, wear, and aged hardware for a convincing vintage appearance, while the underlying instrument benefits from modern Custom Shop construction.
