This 2022 Gibson Custom ‘58 Korina Explorer is a faithful recreation of one of the rarest and most radical designs Gibson ever made. The korina body and neck give it a warm, airy, resonant voice with a little more sparkle and openness than mahogany, which is a big part of why the originals are so legendary, and at 8.5lbs it's light enough to play longer gigs without the shoulder strain. The Custombucker humbuckers are closely matched and vintage-voiced, with that classic PAF character: clear and dynamic when you play lightly, and thick, singing and aggressive when you dig in or turn up. The chunky ’50s neck has a full, substantial grip, and the 12" radius rosewood fingerboard is comfortable for both chording and bending.
