Martin's D-18E is an extremely rare example, with allegedly only some 500 made. It's become synonymous with Nirvana's legendary MTV Unplugged performance in which Kurt Cobain donned his D-18E and rolled through stripped down versions of some of the band's most iconic numbers. Cobain's guitar sold for a staggering $6.01 million in 2020, furthering its legacy in pop culture history.
This particular example came to us in particularly rough shape, but thanks to our in-house repair team's diligent work, it's been brought back to life. It has undergone a neck reset, fret level, bridge crack and string slot repair, along with electronics cleaning and resoldered wiring along with bridge plate plugs and several side and back cracks have been repaired. It's an iconic instrument in a lane all its own.
Includes non-original vintage hard shell case.
