This 1951 Martin D-28 remains a compelling early-’50s example, featuring Brazilian rosewood back and sides with a Sitka spruce top and a full body overspray. The guitar has received several structural repairs over time, including a neck reset, refret, repaired headstock break, and multiple professionally addressed top and side cracks, along with a repaired treble-side puncture. Internally, the bridge plate and popsicle brace have been reglued, and the soundhole braces have been cleated, with visible excess glue from an earlier non-professional repair. Taken as a whole, it is a thoroughly serviced D-28 that prioritizes stability and longevity.Inclues 60s hard shell case (featuring a custom leather handle engraved with "JACK" and initials painted on the top).
