By 1910, the Gibson F-4 had established itself as one of the company's premier mandolins, combining carved construction with the elegant appointments that set it apart within the early Gibson catalog. This example has received a compression refret and replacement nut, while a repaired break to the bass-side headstock scroll has been professionally addressed to ensure continued stability. The original pickguard has been removed due to its condition, but is included with the mandolin. Cosmetic wear includes back scrapes and edge wear. With its carved spruce top, figured maple body, and distinctive scroll design, this F-4 remains a compelling example from Gibson's formative years in Kalamazoo.

Includes OHSC.
