Description

The 1938 Gibson L-5 represents the height of Gibson’s prewar archtop work, with its carved Spruce top, figured Maple back and sides, and ornate multi-bound construction. This example has been refinished and shows checking throughout, giving the instrument a well-aged appearance. It has also been refretted and fitted with an aftermarket DeArmond pickup, adding a practical electric element to this otherwise traditional jazz archtop. With its large 17" body and 25.5" scale, this is a substantial prewar Gibson with plenty of history behind it.

Includes Aeroplane Racing Stripe Geib case.
