The Golden Era instruments drew their inspiration from the renowned vintage Martin guitars made prior to World War II, which many believe to be the finest instruments ever produced. Crafted by the Martin Custom Shop, this D-18 features a winning combination of Adirondack spruce and Sinker mahogany. The mahogany used for these guitars was recovered from Central American rivers after being submerged for over a century. Originally harvested in the late 1800s to early 1900s, the logs were floated downriver, with many sinking along the way. Those same logs were later recovered and transformed into Custom Shop guitars like this one.
The strings are set to a medium height, offering an ideal balance of projection and easy playability. The guitar is in great condition, showing only light dents and surface scratches from normal playwear. It comes with the original hardshell case.
