This 1919 Gibson F-2 is a classic black-top example from Gibson's early carved-top mandolin production. The F-2 features a spruce top, birch back and sides, mahogany neck, and ebony fingerboard, with the distinctive oval soundhole and two-point body shape associated with the model. The mandolin has been refretted, providing a practical update while retaining its early Gibson character. A well-preserved example of a sought-after pre-Loar-era F-2.
