This 1914 Gibson K-2 Mandocello is a great example of Gibson’s early mandolin-family instruments, featuring an elegant pear-shaped body and distinctive Black Top finish. Built with a carved spruce top, maple back and sides, and a mahogany neck with an ebony fingerboard, the K-2 offers a deep, resonant voice with the unique character of a double-course mandocello. Its ornate pearl headstock inlay, decorative soundhole rings, and traditional appointments give it plenty of visual presence. This example has seen several repairs, including a headstock break repair with overspray, a refret, and a replacement tailpiece. Player wear and dings are present throughout, adding to its well-traveled vintage character.

Includes Yamaha hard chipboard case.
